Aquatic Therapy is designed to benefit children by working on therapeutic skills in a gravity assisted environment. The pool setting offers a variety of water-based activities that enhance or restore mobility and function in a warm water environment. The therapists are able to utilize the properties of the water to support, assist, and resist movement patterns in order to improve limitations. Aquatic intervention improves strength, range of motion, balance, coordination, circulation, endurance, pulmonary function, and enhance sensory feedback and body awareness through the global resistance provided in the water while performing functional activities.
