Bear Crawling – Stay up on your hands and feet with your bottom in the air
- Great for coordination between arms/legs and core activation
Crab Walking – Using your hands and feet, push to lift your bottom off the ground and try to keep your belly and hips flat like a table
- Encourages glute activation, coordination of arms/legs, and shoulder girdle stability
Duck Walks – Squat as low as you can and keep your balance while you waddle around – make sure to keep your heels on the ground
- Works on squat form and promotes ankle range of motion
Giraffe Walking– Walk around on your tip toes and reach your arms overhead
- Going up on your tip toes requires lots of control and strength while reaching arms overhead challenges your balance
Dinosaur Stomps – Take big marching steps all around the house
- Works on functional single limb balance
Frog Jumps – Squat down low and push up to jump with strong legs
- This is great to work on coordinating jumping with double limb take-off and increasing power production in legs
Bunny Hops – Make sure to jump with both feet at the same time
- This is a good exercise to focus on jumping forward for increasing distances while coordinating pushing off with both legs
Flamingo Stand – Stand on one leg and FREEZE!
- Single limb balance is extremely important for stairs and obstacle navigation
Cat / Cow Stretch – While on hands and knees, slowly alternating between rounding and arching your back is a great stretch for the muscles of your trunk
- Helps with spinal mobility and core activation
Fly Like an Eagle – Lay on your stomach and then lift your arms and legs off the ground to make yourself feel like you are flying!
- This is a great exercise for overall strengthening
