Meet Elaine, one of our newest patient success stories at Medical Support Services!
Elaine came to physical therapy at Medical Support Services struggling with lots of falling. She was unable to keep up with her friends and cousins and, as a result, felt very discouraged. Elaine began physical therapy appointments with Emma and Jessie, two of our Physical Therapists on staff. Emma and Jessie knew that Elaine would work hard during her appointments and improve her mobility. Likewise, Elaine and her mom always made sure to work on exercises between appointments to keep her strength up.
Our therapists always try to find unique, fun, and creative ways to improve each child’s gross motor skills. These skills involve the coordination of the muscles and the neurological system. In addition, they form the basis for the fine motor skills that allow us to make small movements. Elaine loved working on her balance and coordination. She was able to become much stronger through play-based therapy. Elaine’s hard work paid off and, as a result, she was able to graduate from physical therapy in August 2021. Elaine is now able to run and play with nothing holding her back!
Mom’s Perspective
Meet Elaine and learn more about her experience from her mother’s perspective. Elaine’s mom states, “We had a wonderful experience with our Physical Therapists at Medical Support Services. They were kind and encouraging and Elaine always looked forward to ‘playing’ with them at her appointments. I was consistently informed on her progress and given practical ways to help her at home. Watching her gain strength and coordination week by week was such a joy. I’m so grateful for our time with Jessie and Emma for their expertise in helping Elaine be the best she can be.”
Keep being awesome Elaine! We are so proud of you and all of your accomplishments!
