Ollie started therapy at Medical Support Services just before his first birthday.
At the time, he required around the clock cares in order to address his medical needs, including positioning changes throughout the day.
Ollie would be exhausted, falling asleep after just a few minutes of therapy intervention. He has worked super hard over the past few years, with his family and therapy team supporting him along the way.
In OT, Ollie has made improvements in reaching accuracy, motor planning, and play skills. He demonstrates increased participation in dressing skills and engages in a wider variety of play schemes! In ST, Ollie has also made exciting progress in his ability to communicate. He can make choices and looks to named pictures/items. He recently began trials for a Speech Generating Device that he can activate with his eyes! We are so excited to learn what he has to say. In PT, he has made significant leaps in his physical strength, allowing him to explore his home through a variety of movements. Some of his favorite new things to explore are the books and card decks on his shelves and his sister’s art crafts hanging in the hallway!
Ollie’s family is proud of his hard work and progress. Dad says, “He moves so much now you have to wrestle with him to get him dressed!” Mom says, “We have to start keeping a closer eye on this little mischief-maker now, you blink one minute, and he’s across the room the next!”
