Sebastian is a spunky and warm-hearted kid with a big imagination, bringing smiles to staff and families every time he sets foot in our clinic. He was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder in 2021, and started therapy at MSS shortly after in 2022. He has made tremendous progress since starting therapy, already graduating from both physical and speech therapy services. He has increased his strength, stability, and dynamic balance to move around and explore his environments with improved ease and safety. He has also gained skills for comprehension and articulation resulting in significantly improved functional communication.
He is still receiving occupational therapy services, where he continues to work hard gaining coordination and strength for increased independence with his daily activities, as well as attention and regulation skills. He is now able to dress himself with more success and went from not being able to hold a marker, to writing his name!
Perhaps his biggest achievement of all, however, is his improved ability to try new foods with confidence, leading to improved variety of foods in his regular diet. The sky is the limit for this sweet boy and we can’t wait to see what goals he accomplishes next!
Parent Quote:
“Sebastian has been coming to Medical Support Services since 2022 and his progress has been amazing and something we are truly blessed for. Before coming Sebastian was not able to communicate fully, had very repetitive behaviors, daily life for him was a struggle, and he only survived on french fries and milk to try and sustain himself. Since attending Speech, OT and PT, he has now graduated from both Speech and PT. He has transformed into a loving, kind, sensitive, adventurous eater and a very talkative little boy! I’m not sure where we would be without Medical Support Services, but we are truly blessed everyday that they were here for Sebastian and helped him along his journey. They gave us the gift of our son being able to navigate his daily life and they will never know just how much they changed all of our lives.”
