Nolan ready for Hockey!

Meet Nolan! “Nolan is a 9-year-old who loves to play hockey. He has an active lifestyle with hockey practices and school however his parents had concerns about his pickiness with food and frustration tolerance. A variety of approaches were used in his OT sessions, Nolan worked on mindfulness, he explored a variety of food textures, he learned about his Zones of Regulation and developed a willingness to try new foods in OT and at home. His parents were a huge part of his success by following through at home with suggestions. Nolan’s favorite part of OT though was the trampoline! He holds the record for the most “seat drops”. He did 200 in a row! Congratulations Nolan!” – Julie, COTA/L

Meet Nolan! “We cannot say enough good things about Julie and her dedication and work with not only Nolan, but helping us work with Nolan at home as well, to use the same verbiage, terminology, and structure that she has worked on with him at his visits. Nolan has become more vocal in his feelings as to what he’s feeling and why; using the zones, he’s able to identify what zone he’s in and identify what’s making him feel that way. He’s able to use things that have been suggested by Julie, within the home and school to help calm him and help him regulate his zones (chewing gum, rolling up in a burrito and applying deep pressure, weighted blankets, fidget cubes, taking mental breaks, helping bring in the heavy groceries, exercise ball, and of course the beloved trampoline).” – Nolan’s Mom
